Setting Up Rates and Billing for Small Tools
Small Tools is commonly billed as an Associated Labor Fee item in Time and Materials based billing. This guide outlines example rates and methods of attribution.

The most common method for billing Small Tools is the "Percentage Per Input (Labor Total)" and typically applies to Supervisors and Laborers only:

  1. Small Tools rate setup is located in the 'Default Rates and Markups' section in your Project Settings, as shown below
  2. Flat Daily Rate - Billed as a Flat Daily Rate Per Person regardless of hours worked or billed labor total: e.g. $3.00 to $7.00 per person, per day
  3. Percentage Per Input (Labor Total) - Calculated based on percentage of Billed Labor Total: e.g. - 8 hours worked at $10.00/hr. = $80.00 x 0.03% = $2.40

Because Small Tools is an Associated Labor Fee, it is applied during Labor Input, as shown below
  1. To bill for Small Tools, click to check the small tools box in the Labor Input Dialog
  2. If you make a mistake, click once more to uncheck the box
