Project Settings - Work Descriptions
Work Description identifies the labor class you're billing for during Labor Input. (see example dialog below)
 
Keyboard Shortcut: Begin typing and the box will pre-populate with stored data that begins similarly.
Work Description Setup is found on the Project Settings File Interface (see below)
 To Add Work Description Data:
- Open Work Descriptions Table, then click the ADD button to open the Input Dialog
 
- Enter the new Work Description details, click ENTER to record it, then click CLOSE
To Modify an Existing Work Description Entry:
- Click to highlight the Work Description you want to modify
 
 
- Click the MODIFY button to open Input Dialog
 
 
- Enter the Modification(s), click ENTER to record it, then click CLOSE
 
 
To Remove an Existing Work Description:
- Click to highlight the Work Description you want to remove
 
 
- Click on the REMOVE button
 
 
- Click Yes to confirm when prompted
 
 
To Import a Work Description List:
- You can Import a List of Work Descriptions from an Excel® spreadsheet. 
 
 
- You can also create and/or update a Work Description List from an Excel spreadsheet and import it into the Program. 
 
 
- The Spreadsheet must meet the format requirements in order to import
 
 
- If needed, you can create a Blank Template in the next step 
 
 

To Export Work Descriptions | Create a Blank Template:
- You can Export a Work Description List to an Excel® spreadsheet
 
 
- You can ADD | MODIFY | REMOVE data in the spreadsheet, then import back into program without importing duplicates
 
 
- To create a blank spreadsheet template, click on the EXPORT button
 
 
- This will export a Blank Template with the properly formatted headers.
 
 

Excel® Export Examples:
Below is an example of an exported Work Description List to Excel®. You can ADD / MODIFY / REMOVE data, then import it back into the program as shown in the examples above.

Blank Work Description List Template:
Below is an example of a Blank Work Description List created with the Export function. You now have a pre-formatted template that can be imported with or without data.
Note the headers cannot be modified.
Be sure to save a copy of this template to your machine for future bill files.
